OP: What battery stabilizer did you use, and where did you source it from?

I used a 20 dollar special from advance auto parts. It really doesn't matter.

Did you use a charger, or an actual stabilizer?

I call it a trickle charger - I guess you would call it a stabilizer.

I think this is the one I got:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Schumacher...ingMethod=p13n

battery tender/battery charger/battery maintainer all works like a charm

Anyone's PC have an issue finding the driver for the handheld tuner?

Seems that mine can't locate it to install and allow communication with the device.

What OS are you using on your PC? I had no issue with Win7 32-bit.

I'm on Windows 8 - that may be the issue - I'm going to try a Windows 7 machine tomorrow.

Thanks,
Joe

Just an update - worked first try on my Windows 7 machine. Drivers must not be compatible with Windows 8.

Is stability control supposed to be disabled with the velos tune or did I do something wrong?

Seems to be a lot more body sway then before.

^ the tune would not effect the handling dynamics, could just be you going much faster than you realized

Haha! Love the sentiment

I do think something funky is going on. I got a stability control error immediately after flash. This morning it still seems completely disengaged.

I'm sure Omar will help clear things up. The bit dyno is amazing this far.

Thanks,
Joe

Did you turn on and off the engine 6 times after the flash?

Yeah. Omar confirmed that there is no way the flash could have even accessed anything with the stability control.

Maybe it's just in my head, but it really seems bouncy and sways more.

I'm going to do a reflash to stock tonight and then see if I notice any handling difference.

Just an update.

Omar helped get my issues all sorted out and now after having the tune on for 2+weeks I'm really happy with the performance increase.

Something else I wasn't expecting was a bump in MPGs. I was averaging 13.2 over the past couple months and since the tune I'm holding steady at 14.1. Pretty nice results!

Very happy with my decision to go with Velos.

Hey "theonesupreme", I noticed you have a ton of comments on the Velos tune, and I am in NYC. Just ordered the Stage 2+ tune for my 2012 x5m, which we just bought. Thing came with downpipes and no cats, so looking for a tune which would kick ass and and eliminate CEL for the lack of cats. Are you in NYC?

best,
jeff
