Possible highest mileage e70 for sale?
Found this one randomly yesterday. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...2029/overview/
Shows just how well and long the cars can run for with proper maintenance. Pretty impressed almost up to a quarter of a million. |

Mine isn’t far behind...
I have an 07 4.8 with 197500 on it. All routine maintenance done, new gaskets and seals everywhere, motor mounts, suspension bits, brakes. Runs like new. I’m definitely shooting for 300k, maybe more.

Garage List 2020 BMW M340i [0.00]
2019 RAM 3500 [0.00] 2020 BMW X3 [0.00] 2016 BMW 550i [0.00] 2000 Ford F450 7.3l ... [0.00] |
I doubt many e70s will see 300k, mainly because only the masochist will be willing to spend more than the purchase price in maintenance to get it there. I suspect less than 1% of all e70s made. Most of these go to the junk yard when all the oil seals and valve stems need replacement. Basically they’re totaled when they aren’t maintained because the cost of maintenance is greater than their value. But bmw engines and transmissions seem to hold up relatively well beyond the typical 150k miles that’s the design spec for most vehicles.
I do have a vehicle with 328,000 miles on it. It’s a ford F-450 with a 7.3l powerstroke. I’m expecting it will run 500-700k miles, as most of these seem to. Seen plenty with over 600k miles... but it’s a low stress engine, it makes 235hp with a turbo and 7.3l. Lol. Lots of ford excursions in this range, though stay away from the 6.0. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing |

246k on this 35D. You could probably get this for a steal since it has the engine light on...

I'm shooting to hit 200k on my 114,000 mile X6M. I do realize the engine is gonna need LOTS of internal stuff replaced, pretty soon.
