'Goodwill' repair

I have a 2011 50i with about 45k on it. Just brought it in for the N63 campaign. They did the vehicle check and said it needs turbo coolant lines. They want $1650 for the repair. I requested they reach out to BMW for a goodwill repair. They called me and said they agreed to 50%. My question is the best way to continue? I don't trust the dealership and will never know if that was covered by them 100% at warrant rates and the dealer is squeezing a bit extra out. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Your first issue is you don't trust the dealer. Is there another local that you do trust? A call to BMW NA would be in order as well to check on the offer.

Which dealership?
You might want to post this question on bimmerfest as well - I've seen posts on this very topic, and some members seem to have good insight and information into this. I recall reading that coverage for cars out of warranty, but under 60K miles is 85% through BMW's "secret" warranty.

That's not an issue. That is wisdom.

Unless you know everything there is to know about your car and you have a ramp and you have tools, you have to trust someone. It could be an indy, it could be a dealer, it could be someone else. However, if you're trying to get BMW NA to buck up for a goodwill repair, or even just goodwill parts, I haven't seen a scenario where that doesn't involve a dealer. Therefore, if the OP wants to continue down the road of getting BMW to pick up part of the tab and the OP doesn't trust his/her dealer, it's time to find a new dealer, if only for this particular transaction.

Just had my water pump replaced at 55K miles at no cost. Didn't even ask for Goodwill but was prepared to. They fixed it before even calling with an estimate. I think they know some issues (like 3.0 liter twin turbo engine water pumps) are just too ubiquitous to thrust onto too many BMW owners without backlash. I say ask them for 100% Goodwill.

I would get the N63 CCP done first and shop around for the other items. Even at 50% off, might be better than going to an Indy?

Wanted to post a follow up. I spoke to the dealer for more assistance and they refused saying it would be 50% at the most. It would be about $750. Called the Indy I trust and got a quote out the door for $650 IF it needs the actual hoses. They said it could just be a clamp needing replacement. This is exactly why I as well as so many other people have such mistrust in dealerships. There is absolutely no troubleshooting. If there is the slightest hint at a problem then everything gets replaced! Thanks for the replies.
