What are you trying to achieve? Just have the new roads be updated on your navigation system? It won't actually look any different, which is what I was personally hoping for.

Mine doesn't pull some addresses, hoping this update would make it more current - how to make it work ? ECS says obtain account no. from dealership ... IDK what account no. ??

Yes, the update will work, but as you can read there this is just the map data, you still need a FSC key to activate it. At the dealership this will cost >$200.

But,
if you do your homework and do a search on some well know BMW web forums you might find a cheaper solution.

What ECS is sailing is a USB flash with 2014 maps. In order to install/update your existing maps you will need an activation code.
You can buy activation code from BMW or can get it from third person. Here at xbimmers forum you can buy code for about $50 and get download links for map update.
If your current map is 2012 and don't mine spending $50 get it here from one of our members.
By the way there is 2015-1 update already.

Here is all you will ever need to know about the process. Plus if you use one of these individuals, they will send you a like to the proper version for downloading and installing. I have done this on my 2011 m3 and 2012 x5.

True dat! Get new 2015 version instead and there is free download then put it on 32 GB USB but need FSC code. Google is your best friend.
