Tires

Hi Phil,

BMW want $1600.00 for all (4) tires mounted and installed. I am guessing that doesn't include tax. I found XL run flats for an average price $ 269.00 at Tire rack. The Dunlaps seem to be a hire priced tire.

I can find a few used tires in California. There are a few web sites that have them, but no one has a pair and with shipping they are about $175.00 each.

I am willing to take all (4). Please call me on my cell at 516.639.2268. I can PU in NJ on Tuesday or Wednesday.

John

What BMW dealership gave you that price?

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...ProductId=3660

Official BMW website shows $2216.46 excluding installation and taxes...

Tire Rack has special going for these tires now and even with the special the set sells for $1,842.10 with delivery. No installation. BMW usually charges more than Tire Rack.

The only place where I've seen amount of $1600 in connection with this tires was Lease end charges schedule. If you do return you vehicle at the lease end and you don't have run-flats installed, they will charge you $1600 fee. As far as I know, it will cost you way more if you buying the tires as an equipment. My friend recently had to change one tire like these due to puncture and it cost him almost $600 with installation at ParkAve BMW.

john -

plenty of used times on ebay.com. Just plug in your size and you will get a who bunch of cheaper options. Also, I have had success in negotiating with the ebay sellers so send them a message and they will give you a better price.

Of course they might not be new take offs like Phil's tires here but if you are on a budget that might be an option ....

X6 20" Tires

BMW of Oyster Bay quoted me the price when it was in for service. I can get the tires, just trying to get the best deal.

Phil. If you look at the web, these tires (Dueler XL RFT) are available at Sears for $340.00. Tirerack and the other internet tire dealers are averaging less than 290. per tire. The tires that you have (Dunlaps) are more expensive. I am a buyer with cash who is ready, willing and able to buy your tires. If you want to sell them, please contact me.

John,

You compare apples with oranges. Bridgestone Dueler H/P and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx DSST are different tires with different specifications and, as you pointed out, with different MSRP. Size of the tire is not the only important variable.

And any serious offers are always welcome!

Sorry, not to muddy the waters here but I just wanted to point this out - you mention that they have different sprecifications, that is not true - the Bridgestones and the Dunlops, they have the same Loan index, the same load rating and the same speed rating ....strangely enough, Bridgestone, the cheaper tire has a better tread wear rating than the Dunlops...so its not really an apples to oranges comparion here, its actually apples to apples

These tires are in different class groups: Truck/SUV Performance Sport & Ultra High/Max Performance Summer + Dunlop's warranty is better.

wow talk about low balls - $1500 asking price is pretty good for the shape these tires are in and they do get a premium over the Bridgestones, they are a BETTER tire!.
Perhaps you gents should take the discussion to PM.... to work out final numbers and jvs11560, if BMW did give you such a good deal, why are you on a forum talking about it rather than buying the tires?

Same 20" wheels and Conti ExtremeContact DWS. I needed a softer ride because the car was used to transport a child.

Pros: You don't have to change the tires during snow/ice weather. Softer ride with the same 20" great look (for those who like it).

Cons: Handling is significantly degraded. Risk of puncture without Run-Flats or a spare tire. In my opinion, Dunlop's tread looks way better than any other.

Clear. Yeah, Dunlops are the best way to go if you want performance tires on our trucks. Too bad they are RFT's. I trust someone will want them, the Dunlops don't last long so sure there are some baldies on a nearby prospective buyer vehicle.

Have you reduced the price of these tires by any chance? And did your price include shipping?
