Hopefully the tech trickles down from the La Ferrari and Ferrari can ditch the turbos on the lower cars for a hybrid system (with a high revving NA engine).

Turbo is here to stay, even hybridised, unless camless NA engine make it one day to production.

PS: McLaren 675LT will be faster.

Just the fact that it's one more F/I successor in the auto world really kills my enthusiasm for it.

I'm usually drooling over the new baby mid engined Fezza; this one, not so much.

Ferrari's turbo charged 458 replacement exhaust sound

Just to show that turbo charged engines can sound really good! Not up to the levels of a screaming V12 but sounds great to me! What do you guys think?

It's not terrible by any stretch but it's just not what I love with the sound of a Ferrari. And you don't need a V12, the V8s sounds like nothing else on the planet as well.

Exactly, it isn't close to the screaming NA V8 from the 458/Speciale. Not even remotely in the same league.

Its defiantly going to be different, I had a 458 in California and its certainly an intoxicating sound, I can't wait to hear the new car in real life

Wow, at least you owned one before it was too late. Ferraris will most likely remain dream machines for me but sometimes that's just as valuable. With FI engines it will not be the same, unfortunately. Just as F1 will never be a reality for me but the NA V12s, V10s and V8s sure make the fantasy a lot more exciting than the current FI hybrid cars. Hybrids like the 918 and LaFerrari with NA engines are a much more appealing future to me, both for F1 and street cars.

To the comment about manual gearboxes I agree to some extent if I would buy one but as someone enjoying these cars from outside the driver seat, the sound is of course more important.

Note, I actually like turbo engines and it take a rather special NA engine for me to prefer that. All NA Ferrari engines fall into that special category

The Turbo's on the M4 are amazing, the sound is a bit disappointing but the torque simply throws this car forward. I do miss the sounds of the old engines and may well buy another 458 just to have as a amazing example of that era.

The era of the electric car is on us, so things from a sound perspective are going to get a lot worse!

Compared to a gallardo, I felt the 458 was really too quite and lacked the bark. It's the only car I can drive home without my wife noticing. The v8 performs marvelously but the stock sound is kind of meh.

I like the 488, but I also liked the 458 and the 430 and the 360...I have never been a Lamborghini fan...and I think the Huracan is butt ugly.

As to the sound...I had a 360 back in the day with Tubi exhaust...I never listened to the stereo...just the sound of the engine. My kids used to say they could hear me pull into the neighborhood and tell my wife...dad's almost home...nothing like that sound.

Funny that the 458 had the dumb fake third exhaust to mimic the turbo wastegate from the F40, but now that the 488 actually has turbos, they ditched the third outlet.

Don't find this car very good looking. The Huracan is gorgeous. Best looking Lambo since the Miura. Always hated the way Lambo over designed their cars.

Car looks amazing, far better than the 458. Can't wait to see it in person. Huracan looks good in pictures but it's not special in stock form in person.

Should be able get to see a Huracan in the next few weeks. I certainly do not agree with Jezza and Hamster from their recent Top Gear episode. They said the car's styling was too safe. Please...it looks way more aggressive than a base Gallardo. I think it is one best looking cars in a long time.

I saw one a few weeks ago, pulled up behind me and then stopped next to me at the stop light so I got a good look. It was the same green as the one on TG and it's absolutely stunning. I think the Aventador is even nicer as it should be. Great Lambos. Not outrageous but certainly edgy and eye catching.
