Manheim pricing

Anybody have access to current Manheim auction prices on 2011 X5 e70 50i's? I hear they're creeping up, but from what to what?

.. . I hate the fact that dealers have created an ultra exclusive club that the average Joe does not have access to, virtually guaranteeing a profit on every trade they make ... And to add insult to injury, Manheim will list a "recommended price", even if the product is not available on the auction floor ...

Only six 2011 X5M's crossed the block since 01-09-2014 so not many to average from.
Above Average Condition: $45,320.00 with average miles of 53011

Average Condition: $32,300.00 with average miles of 106022

Below Average Condition: $19,280.00 with average miles of 159033!!!

You cant tell what equipment packages/options are on the cars. So I priced 2011 550i six speed (assuming maybe a sport pack?) of which only 5 had auction results. Here are the averages.

Above Average Condition: $43,135.00 with average miles of 13136

Average Condition: $37,883.00 with average miles of 26271

Below Average Condition: $32631.00 with average miles of 39407

No. Im a independent financial advisor. I was an F&I manager of a BMW/Porsche/Audi/VW/Toyota/Mazda dealership during college and several years after. I still have many contacts in the car biz and have access to Manheim data. Manheim is an international auction company with around 130 auctions sites. It is the MAIN clearing house for auto finance/lease banks and rental companies. Their auction prices are generally considered the benchmark of true wholesale auto value. Dealers look up Manheim results every time they are bidding a car for trade value. Black Book/Kelly/NADA are mostly disregarded. Simply put they wont give you much more for your trade in over what they can just go to Manheim and buy one for. As much as we love our cars individually they are nothing more than a commodity at the auction level.
The finance arms also offer special incentives to dealers to purchase cars at Manheim. For example BMW Financial may offer free 60 to 90 day floor planning to the dealer. Discounts on CPO warranty cost to dealer. Special finance rates to consumer. This makes it very difficult for an independent used car dealer to outbid a new car dealer at a BMW Financial sale if they are even allowed to participate. Some are strictly dealer only sales.

Good information. All my friends are in the car business so I'm always up there running VINs or looking at Manheim numbers. Interesting to say the least. And that's also why I sold my truck to a private individual last year. If the vehicle is well taken care of, it won't make you get a single penny more from a dealership when trading it in. But to an individual buyer, you'll get top dollar.

Thanks for the info! Looking at getting into an M myself. My buddy had a 2012 that he bought for $70K last year, pretty much considered a 2013 pricing wise as of now. He traded in for $58K and the dealer resold for $64K. Dealer bought a 2011 last year for $50K. So seems about right. Surprised pricing hasn't dropped this year.
