My E70 X5 Totaled Itself Within 3 Days of Ownership
I recently purchased a m57 powered E70 X5 to use as a beater car and it’s electrically totaled itself within 3 days of me purchasing it. Car has a trunk water leak which was unknown to me and only exposed itself after I removed all the panels. The symptoms started at night when I made a right turn only to hear what I would describe as an air rushing noise (I believe this was the self leveling suspension) then the engine shortly shutoff seconds later, throwing abs/4x4/tc errors, Electrical Malfunction, Restraint System Malfunction, Trailer Wiring Malfunction, Etc. Engine would not restart due to the canbus network being offline and the fuel pump not being told to activate. Had it towed home. Checked the rear and sure enough, about an inch of water, cleaned it all up, no water since, but even after inspecting all connections and even replacing some, no cigar. The following is a set of error codes I pulled a week ago, unfortunately I can’t pull any new ones, as the OBD port and radio have since stopped working as well. Let me know what you think. (PS. There are undervoltage codes from me running the battery dead with the car on waiting for a tow, I have since charged the battery and that seeming has done nothing)

What kind of purchase was it? Private party or a new or used car dealer?
If the latter, seems like there could be some sort of recourse? |

Private party, the recourse would be totaling it out which honestly I’m pretty sure would result in me getting 100% or more of what I payed for it. I’m just not quite ready to part ways yet though, cause for the short time I owned it, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
