programming replacement light?
My friend has a 2011 X5 35i and replaced a headlight with what I assume is the adaptive controller included. Now he has an error light, says “adaptive error failure”
The lights work but the one he replaced that has the new controller doesn’t turn like the driver side does when he turns the steering wheel. He has ISTA+ but we haven’t found how to access lighting in that program. We’ve checked under “chassis” and “body” but don’t see it. Any ideas? |

It's important to address the adaptive error after headlight replacement. Using ISTA+ is a good approach, but make sure to look under relevant sections like "Lighting Prevent " or "Headlight Controls." Also, verifying the compatibility of the new controller with the specific model and version is crucial. Seek expert advice if needed for proper prevent integration and error resolution.

Thanks! It ended up being that the replacement headlight didn’t include a new control unit, just a cover for it. He put the control unit from the old headlight on and now all is good!
