HELP!! Strange side mirror issues

Hey guys!

I'm hoping you can shed some light or direction on this weird problem I'm facing on my 2011 X5 35i (E70 LCI). It has around 104,000km on it

When putting the vehicle into Reverse, only the passenger side (right) mirror dips, not the driver side (left). Is this normal?

Also, when folding in the mirrors, only the driver side (left) mirror folds in. The passenger side (right) does not. Not even a budge, and no motor sound from that side. I do recall it working once in the past and it folded in very slowly. I guess it gave up?

If the motor indeed gave up, is there a fix? A part number for this? I'm quite handy and into DIY so I'm not afraid to try something out.

I've scoured forums but since I have two separate issues with each side mirror, the only thing I've checked were:

- making sure the mirror switch is switch to the driver side (left)
- trying out both keys

Can you please help with the highlighted above?

Thank you in advance

only right mirror dipping.. normal..
for folding part.. since you ve said it folded in the past you scan to see some faults.. such mechanisms generally last very long as long as its wired and not damaged badly.. you can take the cap and inspect for a start to see if there is dirt etc. inside the mechanism.. for DIY part you can check the link for parts..

Thank you, yco. I can't seem to find the part that folds the mirror.

I will most likely just buy a couple of these and replace both sides. I can't seem to find the OEM part number, so I will just put in some Chinese/Vietnamese ones
