X6 Performance spoiler

I have a general question about the Performance package spoiler. Take a look at the picture below.

the spoiler seems to be creating a "bowl" shape. When it rains, isn't that going to keep all the water in this area?

It looks silly to have a pond on the back of the car

Small drilled holes should help and not spoil spoiler performance, I saw one already with a couple of small holes in it. Not sure the make though.

Don't let the photo fool you, it doesn't hold enough water to notice.

Take bottle of water and poor it right in that spot and see what happens
Water should go to the sides, not the rear
Middle of the area, you circled is the highest point of that trunk section, so water should not accumulate there

P.S. Trunk is not perfectly flat either, it's a bit round

Thumbs up

It doesn't hold water. Not enough to pool or settle. Put it on. It looks great!!

I don't have one yet. I am looking into buying one at the moment, and that's when this rain water question came up.

Perhaps I should go to the dealers and pour some water on their demo car

Regardless whether you have spoiler installed or not, water will go to the sides, not to the rear of the lid
So it wont stay on the trunk

I have that spoiler and have not experienced water pooling there. Should be no problem.

I have the same spoiler...it never pools water and comes in unpainted, carbon fiber, and flat black from BMW Accessories. I have the flat black one.

Are you buying from BMW and having a shop paint, or are you leaving it black?

For now, it is just black.
When it gets bored, I will paint it white in the future

So far, I like the black on white look.
