20" aftermarket wheels big enough?
Hey guys,
Looking to get a slightly more aggressive color and look in the wheel well region of my e70 X5. I have settled on Rohana RC1/RC2 wheel in gloss black on a Silverstone truck. Just wondering if it will be big enough aesthetically. I love the ride on my current wheels, 299m wrapped in Duelers, and I don't want to sacrifice the peace of mind provided by the extra rubber protecting the rim if I were to go 21" or 22". Can anyone post pics of the X5 on aftermarket 20"s? All pics I've found so far have been 22"s which are too big for me. thanks |

I think 20" looks great in a light wheel color.
If the 20" is darker and your wheel arches are black, it's less appealing. 22" (light) with black wheel arches still look good. 22" (light) with colored arches -- I don't like the "covered wagon" look. All just my personal taste of course. I recently got 20" Forgestar F14 in bronze on my Space Grey E70. It wasn't quite right with the black arches as I said above. As we speak, I'm getting the black trim painted, which should complete the look. Will post pics once I get it back.

I think 20's with 40 and 35 profile tires look perfect on the E70 given our height and the size of the wheel arches. Dark wheels will make your car wheels look smaller as it's visually harder to tell where the wheel end and tire begin.
I've also seen a few 21's that loo just way too big...It's all up to your own tastes and how you use the car. If you actually drive on gravel and use all-seasons in light snow I would stick with 19s for functionality.

"Introducing the new Rohana Wheels RF Series, the RF1 wheel model with its black finish, is constructed with the latest state of the art forging technology with its rotary forming wheel construction. The rotary forming technology is the latest in engineering a lightweight forged wheel which allows for a durable ultra lightweight wheel. The RF1 has a deep concave, ten-spoke design that will fuse elegance and performance all into one dynamic wheel." for $2600, cant beat that. I do agree on the darker=smaller theory though. Quote:
