How many E70 owners had/have a BMW 335?
Can't help but notice that a bunch of us on here either came from a 335 or currently drive one. If you came from one, what made you switch over?
I previously ran one of the first MMP Stg 3 Big Twin Turbo 335's until I swerved to avoid someone slamming their breaks in front of me, and instead caused another accident Hands down was one of the best bang for your buck vehicles on the market. Insane tuning capabilities, huge aftermarket support and a great support community. Here was a pic of my baby in her prime. And the build thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...193260&page=10 |

I always wanted one, but ended up with a Lexus IS350, which also ended up being an amazing car and super reliable.
Now I have an e70, but sometimes debate on trading it in for a 335i, but don't know if I would regret it. I'm kind of liking the space, comfort and snow capabilities.

I had a 2010 335 coupe that drowned in 2012 during storm Sandy. Bought the X5 right after the storm b/c NYC road were horrendous, so I figured an SUV would come handy.

Good thread to create Matt because you're definitely right I've noticed that myself on here ironically enough.
Whelp I had (2) 335i's which was pretty awesome, E90/E92 which I was aiming to keep until the wheels fell off. Found out the wife and I were having a baby so I sold the cars and for a Range Rover. I figure it was time to "grow up" from the fast life and slow down for daddy duties. Found out I was leaving and where I am currently you have to drive literally everywhere. As we ALL should know the RR's suck on gas so I thought to myself why not get back in the BMW scene. Found my E70 which I am enjoying a lot more than what I thought I was going to initially Below was my last build, I did FBO's on my 2010 E90 and did the 1M bumper which was an amazing challenge lol

We had a 2011 335xdrive and absolutely loved it. It was great in the snow, and very quick too. Kept it for a couple years then my wife got pregnant and thought the X5 would be better suited to our needs.

Didn't come from a 335, but we did recently pickup a 535xiT for the GF. So far all I've done is BMS DCI, but after driving my modded X5M, she's pushing for more mods on hers. I'd considered doing a simple MHD flash and calling it a day, but I've recently put the JB4 on my X5M, and seeing how much it adds, I'm thinking of findin a used JB4 and doing MHD BEF instead. Problem is I don't want to have to budget for two crazy fast grocery getters, so I'm not sure which is the truly best bang for the buck mods on her car.

Does a 340i count?
Went E46 M3 before kids -> X5, and now kids are over 10, something a little fun again

How many times did you have to change the hpfp on that n54? My '07 was fbo and spent much of its life at the stealership due to hpfp...my '11 n55 was also fbo but never gave me a single problem

I got my E92 back in '12 with 68k on the clock and the HPFP had already been done once under warranty by the previous owner. I've only put about 15k on it in the five years I've had it and haven't done a thing to it other than routine maintenance.

I went from having a 335i and E70 x5 to trading my x5 in for a Tacoma because I thought we didn't need it. As soon as it was gone I missed it. I eventually traded the Tacoma in for a CPO 328xdrive and my 2011 335i for another e70 X5. Really love the x5. I do miss my 335 and the turbo but I do have an E46 m3 in the garage. I think if I came across another E90 or E92 I might jump on it.

I have a Pure Stage 2 turbos e90, love it... a year ago I purchased a 2016 Mustang GT, was tired of it 6 months into it. While visiting my sister in the bay area last week I spotted a 2013 X5M and traded in the Stanger for it. So now I have my e90 and the X5M

I have a Stage 2 335D with a lot o mods. I also currently own a X5 M. I drive the D for when I feel guilty filling my X5 M gas tank with sliced dolphin. The D is nearly as fast as the m, but gets an honest 32-36mpg around town now that I have the egr blocked and a race pipe installed.

I had been looking for an x5m before I got my x5. I really wanted to keep my 335i but figured it would be more comfortable for kids when we move/ drive to WA state this year. Nice cars!

Hi, nice to meet you SirDaft
I have my E92 still, just sold my E90 for my second X5. Both were tuned. Wife's X5 is white on black, mine is black on white. Both Diesels with JBD tunes on them. The E90 was a great car but I didn't want to hassle of two N54s in my life and I really wanted more space. Once the wife picked up her E70 I got jealous and the 07 E90, even fully loaded, just wasn't cutting it. Pics in my sig. I'll have pictures of the X5s up by tonight. Got some more mods to install on her 1st. That aero kit is starting to look tempting but I'm not sure if anyone will notice it on black other than me... I would like to black out my running boards. Not sure how. One idea I had was use that skate board grip tape like stuff...I don't don't want to do it and mess it up and have it look cheap/trashy.

Bought the X5 'cause the car in my signature pic isn't much good for weekend trips to Costco.
