X5 M....holy crap
I Just went to look at a new M3 and was convinced to take the X5 M for a spin......WOW!!!!!
This thing is a total battle-axe-carrying-teutonic-warrior......virtually no roll in the corners and that power band Is just retarded.... I'd still rather have a 6MT car but the shifting was pretty good and the downshifting in sport mode was pretty cool. Far and away the fastest SUV every to appear on planet earth. |

I just saw one in person at chapterfest. I didnt like the outside styling. But it had air cooler ducts in each wheel well I think. Im sure its awesome but id spend 90k on something other then an x5.

Can't wait to drive it (and the X6 M). Might have to stop by and "say hello" to my CA.

I think the RRS is rated around 7500lbs though, just for comparison sake.

id take an X5M over any cayenne. cant touch that BMW styling son. Cayenne just doesnt cut it for me, it looks more feminine. My dad had one back in 07, thing was great, and better than the current X5 at the time as we just came from one. But now, when it comes to current X5 vs current Cayenne, its safe for me to say (in my opinion) that the X5 is the superior vehicle. I favor the tank like figure the X5 trancends, its just so fucking ripped. X6 is nice too but to feminine for me once again, its too soft.

I ran across a Jeep Cherokee SRT the other day, that thing is sick. I bet it's close to the Cayenne Turbo in acceleration.

X5 is one the worst vehicles in the market in terms of reliability. Every magazine I have read says the same thing. My friend had one and replaced it with ML550 after 4 months because the car spent 2 months in the dealer in 4 month period. I hope they improved it in X5M

Only a starter AND cluster??? That's sort of two major things. I have not had either problem with my M3, for example, nor any other problem. I was really excited about the X5, but these posts are worrying me... GMC is not bankrupt because the UAW builds great cars. I really wish the Germans were building the X5, not the UAW beer guzzling union slobs.

I just traded my Jeep SRT8 for a X5 M. The Jeep definitely has far greater pull off the line.... for a split second, and then the twin turbo takes the lead. My Jeep registered 1.15g acceleration in the first 0.1s, when I measured it. |

I might be the lucky one, this is my 5th X5, had all of the different variations in the past. None had any problem beside regular maint. My family + extended family all drive X5s, 7 of them right now. Range from 2003 to 2009 all working fine

FACT: X5M isn't the fastest SAV/SUV out there ... THE BMW X6M IS!!! Nothing out there is touching the X6M pound for pound. Nothing. It's blowing EVERYTHING big turbo SUV out of the water ... easily.
