Are BMW rims for X5 all the same?

I am looking to get a 2nd set of used rims and snow tires. Are 2006 and 2009 rim sizes identical? Is Continental a good brand for snow tires? Is 5 years old too old?

No 2006 is the E53 body and the 2009 is the newer e70 body. The hubs are different size they will not fit. Continental is a good brand, however there are many different models/levels of quality within the brand so without know what exact tire they are is hard to determine the performance. 5 years old is getting to the end of life for tires IMO especially if you don't know the previous history ( I.E. if you bought them brand new and properly maintained them).
