Updating navigation

Ju.St bought my 2007 x5 3.0 today. Just wondering if The nav ever needs updating? Thanks

Sure. If you eject the nav DVD in your car you can figure out which version and year it is.

Newer map DVDs certainly contain updated Poi's and newer road info.

Pricey though. $200 for a updated Nav DVD.

The navigation and idrive software can also be updated. Normally only by a dealer and normally if there is a issue with idrive.

A common idrive (2007-2009) problem is the display brightness if changed isn't remembered.
