Drive Stabalisation Error

Got this error crop up, power steering very heavy and cruse control stopped working.

Took to a local dealer and have been told my Steering Angle Sensor needs replaced and calabrated. Cost £1,033.

I looked up the part and they seem to be going for ~£70. Is the dealership coming the bag here, or is that what you guys really think it would cost to fix?

Did you look up the part by VIN with the exact options for your vehicle? If im not mistaken, the steering angle sensor is integrated into the steering column switch (not sure your application). I looked up one of the more common ones and it shows a list price of $717 USD. Another hour or two of labor and what they are charging seems about right.
