X5M Engine Cover removal?

Can someone help me? How to remove the engine covers? Where do I pull? Do they just come off like that? Just wanted to make sure before I try pulling on anything...

Normally, I pay an indy shop to do everything from maintenance to oil changes...

But I wanted to try and start doing some easy things by myself, like changing the intake air filters and cleaning the MAF, etc.

So, do I just pull the covers right off?

The back most cover closest to the firewall removes by just pulling up. ITs held on by rubber grommets (one with the oil cap in it).

The front is the air intake/filter assembly its removable by unscrewing the the screws and removing the ducted hose clamps. Its pretty easy.

Its not going to reveal a lot, as with the turbos in the V of the engine, there are a ton of heat shields and other parts to remove before getting to the engine.

A lot of people recommended keeping the rear covers off as the turbos get very hot and the rear cover traps the heat. I agree as the too much heat is never a good thing.
