xDrive Malfunction

As the title. Went to turn it on today and dash says 4X4! And the idrive screen says xDrive Malfunction. Car runs normal. Drop it home and turned it off and back on but still nothing. Also the DSC light is lit on the dash. Any ideas guys? Thanks

Did the battery die at all? Did anything get disconnected while it was sitting?

Will it drive? Take it around the block SLOWLY and see if those errors clear.

If they don't clear you'll need to see what error codes are stored. Do you have access to a diagnostic scanner?

So not sure how or why but it's back to normal. Drove it to the gym and when I got done went to turn it on and no more alert. 🤷🏽 I'm confused have driven it for an hour on and off and still good. It has been raining here the last 3 days maybe water damage setoff alert?

The battery has never died. I've had the X5 for 6 months now and have never had power issues. It's my daily so drive it everyday.

Yeah I haven't scanned for codes yet. If issue continues I will scan.

Dont gas it hard or go over anything that would give you wheel slip and try not to power through turns.

First thing comes to mind is the ring gear in your transfer case actuator. Goes out eventually on like...every X5.

So far so good. Have not got that error since then. These BMWs have a mind of their own.
