Removing TCU from E70 - need advice on plug

Hi All,

I seem to have a dead TCU. I am trying to remove the unit and have got stuck with one of the plugs and hope someone can advise how to disengage it. I have attached a photo. It is the mauve plug with two leads connecting. I have circled it in red.
Is anyone able to tell me how to remove it. I have tried everything and don't want to damage it.
Thanks and sorry for being so dumb!

Fixed it

Okay, so I eventually solved this one. I have attached another photo of the connection after the plug was removed. You can see the bit that holds the connector tight. What you need to do is lift the black bit that clips over the retainer and then ease the plug off. Now all I need to do is find a compatible replacement TCU.
Thanks for looking guys.

I believe that I have a TCU unit that I had bought for my step-daughter's car but we ended up selling it. Let me know if you want it and I'm sure we can work it out. It would need to be programmed to your car to work properly.

Thanks for that. It would be great if your part is the right one........................but just noticed you are in Florida! I am in UK!

The TCU I need is part number 9257161. I have attached a photo. I hope that as the car was already coded for the TCU, if I replace with one that has the same hardware and software version that it should be plug and play. If not, I could try carly to see if it has any coding options for the TCU.
