Talk about a performance car that's seriously overdue for an overhaul. These numbers aren't much better than the S5/435i.

60 in 4.4
100 in 10.4
12.8@111

With DSG. C&D tends to obtain the best numbers too.

UPDATE: They apparently tested a 2013 model...like it makes a difference

This and the updated S4 are on my short list. I looked at the '14 S5 and it seems just too bulbous. I am hoping when this gets revealed it is markedly improved.

Still (to me) the most handsome car in its segment and the best sounding. Too bad it won't be very memorable, so many publications have dismissed the car and the it's rare to nonexistent on the road. But I want that drivetrain in wagon form. Audi, bring the RS4 Avant here and I'll ditch my M5 in a heartbeat!

audi has been making the same car for the past 10-15 years with just a few slight tweaks here and there.

for example, you can't hardly tell a tt from 2005 to 2015

when they were ahead of their time a decade a go:

now they're behind the times:

Technically not the latest TT, but the new one doesn't look all that different.

Wow, nevermind the F8x, this is only competitive with the e9x M3.

The RCF (gasp) may even outduel it.

Anybody surprised? This is "last-gen" tech that would not even come close to the F8X M3/M4 or W205 C63 and should not be compared to them. The RS5 has basically been resorted down to those who want just want a big naturally aspirated, nothing more.

Some of the responses here, are just absurd. The RS5 is based on a car that has been out for around 10 years now, and despite that, it still looks better than the current M4, sounds a lot better and in all honesty, most would probably put up similar times in an RS5 as the current generation cars given they are so easy to drive fast. Vs the previous generation, you'd have to be Joey Hand to be faster in an e9x m3 than an RS5. And the RS5 still sounded better, had a better interior and looked as good if not better.

I have been eyeing this car for some time now. What is holding me back is how I am spoiled by my N55's immediate torque. I would have bought an M3 but I felt the car was wasted in daily driving and you could not reach its true potential unless on a track. Also, the new A5 is coming out in 2017?? I cannot remember exactly. Regardless, I think the car is just beautiful in that color and in black window trim, that chrome trim is not matching anything. Anybody know how these sell at dealers? Are they in high demand and how is the used market?

I think it's better than the 4 coupe. The 4 coupe lines are a little odd IMO. The flattened M4 fixes this, but the 4 just looks a little strange, doesn't quite "flow".

The A/R/RS5 looks a bit better than the 4 coupe IMO. Little better "flow" from all angles.

I think it also weighs about 500 lbs. more than the M4. Seems really heavy.

Always loved the look of these but the performance is pretty "meh". I also see them all over the place so they don't even have that scarcity value going for them.

Funny how Audi can built a coupe in 2008 that looks better than BMWs most sporty coupe ever in the M4. While the performance isn't there, obviously, the look is better and the quality is also better.

It's and Audi RS, so they retain value like crazy. A clean B7 RS4 will still sell for around what a 2012 e92 M3 sells for.

The RS5, I looked before I bought my F80 M3, and a nice one was still ~70K.

when it comes to looks and the interior I completely agree the RS5 looks much better than the M3/4. On the performance I really don't know as I only took the M4 for a test drive 2 times. I liked it but I didn't have enough time to have an opinion however; when I had my E93 M3 I always thought the M3 was the better car. When I first got the RS5 I was not impressed with the performance and that didn't change until I modified the car (sway bars, Lowering springs and stabilization bar) this made me happy but not impressed.
It is been a year or more now and I still can't get over the lines that the M4 has. I plan to take the M4 for some test drives this summer so I can make my mind either to keep the Rs5 or trade it in for 2017 M4.

When is the new RS5 expected to release? And I'm assuming it's going to be turbo as well?
