K&N Air Filter?

Planning to change the air filter of my X6 35i to

K&N Drop in filters.

Are there any real difference in performance?
I've read it increases throttle response, is that true?

Thanks

no air filter will add any real difference, I have K/N in mine due to the fact the factory one was dirty and they told me it wasn't due for a change.

K and N filters are snake oil.

They made their name before the internet came around to expose them. They just don't work their magic on modern engines.

Save your money.

Another thing to be careful of any "wet" air-filter is once you clean it, make sure only use enough oil. I've seen so many instances MAF gets killed by excessive oil.

BTW, I used K&N chemical once to clean the air-filter and spray some on concrete driveway, well it eats some of the concrete, so it's very strong chemical, so I go back to "dry" air filter now.
