Requiring "Special Consideration"
When I hover over certain selection while building --like deep sea blue-- it says that special consideration required for this special option. When I placed my order for my deep sea blue x5 the dealer did not mention anything. Was there anything that required discussing? Isn't it just any color, or are there additional options with these special consideration selection?

Also, the "special consideration" may be that DSB isn't available with the M Sport package, or something else like that.

Thanks for the answers. I saw a deep sea blue today and I love it. It is not a common color, and it may not be the best color, but if you like Blue it has a very nice tint of its own. It is dark, but not too dark, yet under direct sunlight it is light, but not too light.
I was told to consider lighter interior but I still went with Black, and a few pictures I saw of X5 Sports Package had black leather seats, and it still looked nice. The one in the showroom had tabacco interior and that was nice too, but I still prefer black leather. I hope it is OK to provide links to other forums, if not, I apologize. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...53&postcount=1 |

"Special Consideration" means that the option has to be special ordered, i.e. a dealer can't order that one to just have on the lot, it has to be a customer order.
Great choice on colors by the way....here's my DSB/Black 2011 X5d |

Thanks. I just love how the blue appears in different shades under different conditions. At night it looks black, mid-day it really sparkles true blue, overcast it will be darkish blue, and changes depending on environment.
Are those 19" rims? |

Yes, 19" 335 rims with the SAP. I like them better than I thought I would, but without the flared fenders it's a little conservative for my taste.
I agree with you regarding the color, the day I took these pics it was slightly overcast and the car looks kind of dark, but it changes a lot depending on the light. |

But flares would not look good unless you went with 20"s that are wider so they match the flares width.
Wide tires look good with or without the flares, but narrow tires probably won't look as good just with the flares. Have you ever seen one with 19"s? Unless your 19"s are wider than the stock 19"s (9"). Imagine, the sports edition's rears are 11" wide, that's 2" of add'l width. |

I could live with it for winter and I would definitely get some wider 20" rims for summer. Good point though!
