New XBimmer in Denver

XBimmers,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the community. I picked up a 2011 X5 50i M Sport on Friday (2/28) and I already have the mod bug going on. Here are a few pics of my new to me X5.

Please let me know what you think and also what mods should come first.

Sorry for the crappy pics these were taken at the dealership right before I signed the paperwork. I am planning to wash her and do a proper shoot this coming weekend.

Nice X5! Your going to love the power. Get some photos of the inside too. If you don't mind me asking how many miles does it have and what was the price paid?

Welcome, and congratulations on the purchase!

The first 'mod' I would do is painted front bumper reflectors. IND sells them, though you'll have to email them as they only currently have the rear reflectors online for the non-M.

I would also do a front plate delete. Even though it's illegal in WA state where I live, I always roll w/o one.

Enjoy your new ride

Thanks man.

My thoughts exactly. The reflectors have got to go!! I'm contemplating plastidipping them until I can get the painted ones installed. Thoughts?

If it were me I'd do it right and pay $85 at iND for painted ones.

thats an insane deal. its unfortunate we pay so much more for the same cars here in Canada. my 2011 with 55km (34miles) certified 35d sport was 50kCAD plus taxes....

what was the msrp on your vehicle new? it must have taken a huge depreciation hit since you got it so cheap

It's a good deal (don't get me wrong) but not an insane deal. Remember that it's a 2011, and those are now coming off lease. Shouldn't get hard to replicate a deal like this in the US...

I would say this deal is borderline 'insane' - I've been looking very closely for 6 months and a 2011 50i M Sport with 32K and CPO for just $37,900 is pretty remarkable.

I was thinking this might be a private party price but based on the pics it appears it was purchased at a BMW dealer. Typically this car is mid-40's, at least, at a BMW dealer.

I just checked BMWUSA, CPO section, filtered on 2011 50i models. There are 176 across the U.S. and just 11 of those are below 40K (most are $39,999). Of those 11 none are M Sport and none even have the Sport Activity Package (1 possibly, though the package list doesn't indicate so) - most looked pretty stripped of options and have 45K miles or more.

OP - what other packages and options does your new X5 have?

If you are willing to put in a little extra time and effort, you can pick up a CPO BMW at a non-BMW dealership. If the vehicle was CPO before being traded in at, say, an Audi dealership, you get the benefit of a CPO vehicle without paying CPO prices. That's how I purchased my M Sport 35i.

Also, it should not be difficult to get between $4K and $6K off asking price if you shop right and show you're serious. The OP did it right, purchased on the last day of the month (and quarter, extra bonus there).

I am interested to see what options his X5 came with. I just found a 50i with the M Sport package on cars.com with ~32K miles for $36,999 (not CPO).

Agreed - buying CPO from someone other than the dealer is the best route, there just aren't many of those out there is all. And obviously the last day of the month is great timing.

I was just saying, generally speaking and comparing w/ the majority of other 2011 CPO'd 50i's w/ M Sport, $37,900 is quite low.

The packages/option list would be interesting to know (it at least has the CWP as I can see the headlight washers), and not to knock the color but I wonder if it isn't the best seller? Most buyers seem to opt for black, gray, silver, white...
