Issue with my X5 4.8 Smoke While idle

Purchased this x5 few weeks ago had no issues with it. I've been having some issues with smoke sometimes blowing out of the left exhaust pipe. And also while parked on idle for over 5 mins when pulling off there will be a cloud a smoke left behind. Car has great service history on carfax from same bmw dealer. Service due light just came on recently. Has 109k miles. Last service was done at 100k shows on carfax.

Anybody has any opinions on what I should do or service. Or anybody with knowledge on replacing the valve seals my buddy tells me that's most likely what it is. Thanks

Switching it up now.. The problem has gotten worse and while driving I can smell the smoke which now to me smells like coolant. And when turning on air conditioner there's also a smell of coolant that comes out for about a minute than goes away. The smoke is coming out of both tail pipes and is a constant smoke not extremely thick but thick enough to be noticed. Car hasn't overheated or anything. Engine oil level on I drive shows good signs. Cars running well aside from being alittle hesitant when pulling off gotta give it a little more gas than I would expect but it's probably just me.

Someone please advise

What color is the smoke? if it's white..sounds like a head gasket.

Smoke is white and it hasn't thrown any codes yet as of now.

I've read some stuff about a CVV. What are the possibilities I'm lucky enough for it to be that.

Called dealership where it was serviced they told me the vehicle had a long service history at their location. Last time it was in they replaced the differential and also advised the customer that he/she should replace the rad upper and lower hoses because they were leaky and also the timing case cover which I have no idea what that is.

Timing cover gasket

This is the timing cover you mention.

But, replacing that cover gasket would not fix any smoke issue.

I think the popular "easy" fix is replacing part #11127547058. There are 2 that can be replaced on the engine and each are around $20 if you search http://www.pelicanparts.com

I did the valve stem seal job myself and it fixed the smoke problem. It took about $800 in tools and parts, and 24 hours of labor.
