Retrofit shadowline trim

The previous owner of my X5 really didn't take good care of it. The matte black window trim from the passenger side seems that it was cleaned with a scotch brite sponge and is showing the primer now (gray'ish). Since most likely I will have to replace that piece, since it looks like crap, I would like to know if anyone attempted to change the matte black trim to gloss black.
Help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

It has been done, but it can get very pricey to replace all the window trim pieces. Your other option is to get the trim pieces wrapped in gloss black, a way cheaper alternative.

I am in the same situation now. I have all the shadow trim pieces but I am having a problem removing the trim around the back quarter window. I currently have the rubber trim and doing a shadowline trim retrofit.

Thats kind of odd. That seemed to be the easiest trim to remove for me.

It is the easiest shadowtrim to remove (From the donor car). But my car currently have the rubber trim. There is no prying my rubber trim to swap out the shadowline trim. It looks like I have to remove my entire quarter window and get me a donor quarter window (specific to attach a shadowline trim), then attach the shadowline trim.
