X5M without smartphone integration - what will I miss?

I may be moving forward with my dream vehicle X5M. It has all of the desired equipment except 6NF smartphone. If I understand this option correctly I will lose the capability to listen to Pandora radio app? Will I be able to charge my iPhone and will it read my playlists? Will I be able to stream content via Bluetooth?

I appreciate your feedback - thank you!

The only one I can answer for sure is with the BMW Y cable it will charge and read playlists. My X5M also has a hard drive that I can load music onto, the USB port is in the glove box. I don't currently use the feature but the previous owner has a play list loaded.

You can also play pandora through the Y cable. The biggest difference is no streaming audio through blue tooth. You can update your system to 6NF through a number of vendors.

What year and build date? If it has the COMBOX, then it's easy to retrofit BMW Apps.

Mine came with a Y cable for the I phone 4. Haven't been able to find one for the 5.

You could get the convertor and stick it on there, that might be easiest

I did that but it did not work.
Either it wouldn't play music or it wouldn't charge. Can't remember.

Use the adapter. 20 bucks at your local iphone store, and probably counterfeits available on line much cheaper.

Oops just saw second post. I use the adapter and it charges and plays music etc. it does charge slow though, but I think that's the USB problem, not the adapter. If I plug the USB end of the Y cable into a 12 volt USB charger it charges just fine.
