X6 photo showing who manufactures the parts
I found this over the weekend. It shows the parts suppliers for many of the parts of the vehicle.

Cupholder Rotary Dampers??
That is a neat post Landlord – thanks for sharing…
But it does raise a question: on the lower left portion across the bottom, beside the Automatic Parking Brake and Door Trim listings, you will see a CUPHOLDER ROTARY DAMPER… As I recall, the cup-holders are all stationary on the X6 – with a little segmented type, sliding door to cover them. So where is the application of a rotary damper??? The X6 doesn’t even have the overhead entry/exit handles in the head liner. These are typically equipped with a type of damper nowadays, to prevent them from loudly knocking back into place once released. Those could be considered a type of ‘rotary damper’… but I can’t figure out the application with respect to the stationary cup holders. Perhaps some of our members who are lucky enough to be driving around in one of these machines can comment… or maybe this is something new for the 2009 production??? …just curious… |

Very interesting! A lot of those suppliers are different from X5 parts suppliers -- I wonder why? Instrument cluster (was VDO), brake pads (was Pagid), CD/DVD (was Siemens), etc. Pressure tank and sun visors are by a Canadian company -- wave the maple leaf!
