Interesting to see Masi has drawn attention to points being docked in his race notes - clearly they are keen for it to be decided fairly and maybe this changes some behaviours…

Same mindblowing situation at Jeddah , BOT overtook a McLaren without DRS while the McLaren was running with DRS ...

Negative , I dind't said that Mercedes had Jet-Speed .
I said that the Merc's run in *Warp-Speed .

And of course the Ferrari's ran with the Jet-Mode with the strawberry smell...
Drag levels, level of downforce which inspires the ability to brake later because a higher cornering speed is attainable. Post the video of this overtake, because if it is right before a corner then it is clearly the mercedes' superior cornering ability. Also how is bottas within passing range and not have DRS. Again you need to provide a video to show case this scenario, otherwise it could simply be made up.

Dont forget straight line speed isn't everything, cornering speed is vital as well.

Fairly you say that's a laugh a minute, they'll twist it to side with Ham you know it and I know it, more quicker illegal car than anyone and a supporting body behind him since '14.

That's a clear warning for Max, but also Lewis should heed that reminder:

A surprise awaits the teams and Pirelli in Abu Dhabi. Following the renovations at Yas Marina, Losail-like kerbs were used. As Pirelli was not warned about this, there is a new uncertainty about the weekend.
Why do tracks make these kind of curbs like man that looks like it will eat up the tires and break front wings. Same thing with sausage curbs.
Because they intend for the drivers to stay within the confines of the actual track. I vote to bring back gravel traps and get rid of all the ridiculous run offs and extra paved surfaces!

I am so freaking excited for this weekend. Going in to the finale with the driver's title tied on points is just insane.

Not only has this entire season been absurdly entertaining, but we get to look forward to reliving it in a few months via Netflix. Say what you will about the narratives they weave, but it's some all-time-great streaming in my book.

Too late for that now, toothpaste is out of the tube.

Masi is in desperate need of grid respect, this isn’t gonna make it better, maybe worse.

Masi is out of his depth.
When you start negotiating with team's over the radio, you've lost any respect the teams may have had for you, as well as control of your position.

Look who's going to be steward at AD my friend, this Ham supporter is responsible for giving Max quite a few penalties over the years.

I imagine the FIA will have all it's VER hating stewards in place this weekend. It's too important for hammy to get 8 and displace MSC.

That's not usually how civilian life works. Negotiation and compromise is the nature of society, and sometimes all you need is to mediate things before they go to a judge (who, even then, will mediate and negotiate).

Stewards are last resort, and if a solution that pleases everyone can be found (like they did) beforehand, it keeps in racing, as opposed to litigation.

Not sure if you're referring to a specific situation that is not applicable. are you? Which one specifically?
I think the problem was not what Masi said but how he said it/present it.

He made it sound like a flea market bargaining. Which it wasn't.

IMHO, he should state clearly FIA's position about Max gaining a lasting advantage off track, and this is what FIA recommends...... Otherwise FIA race control will refer the incident to the race stewards. **Period**

The tone and presentation just doesn't bode confidence or in control. Definitely doesn't sound good to the public.

I agree.
Masi also didn't have the situation properly sorted out.
He completly missed the fact that Ocon was in the mix as well.
RB had to ask him about Ocon's position.

Think again. See here:
"FIA Race Director Michael Masi has explained his perspective on the various incidents that took place in an action-packed Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday, which saw Lewis Hamilton win to level the championship with Max Verstappen.
Conversations between Masi and the pit walls of Red Bull and Mercedes, in which they were heard deliberating with the Race Director over the starting order for the following restart, were broadcast on Sunday during the red-flag stoppage for Mick Schumacher’s Lap 10 crash.
The Race Director explained why he had such conversations, adding that they are a frequent occurrence in Grands Prix weekends, saying: “It’s very much a normal discussion that happens regularly on a number of occasions and has [done] all year, and previously. I wouldn’t call it a deal, as from a Race Director’s perspective I have no authority to instruct the teams to do anything in that situation. I can give them an offer, [I have] the ability to do that but the choice is theirs.
“The stewards are obviously empowered to give penalties, but I can give them my perspective. That’s why I offered them the ability to give that position up. It was a result of the red flag that came about due to the incident at Turn 3. The priority with any red flag situation is A, to make sure the drivers are safe, and then to activate the marshals’ recovering with cleaning the track and so forth.
“So it probably seemed a bit elongated compared to normal, however it is very much a normal discussion that takes place. When I saw it happen at Turn 2, I immediately suggested to the stewards that I am going to give the opportunity [to Red Bull] to give that place back.
“The red flag obviously ensued very quickly thereafter and that was absolutely the priority before we got going again. Being as we were under the suspension, it was the ability to effectively correct that before we went racing again.”"

yes it was an honest mistake, but it added to the viewers impression that the whole thing sounded like amateur hour.

IMO, it really should have been done off air.

We are all human, mistakes happen.
However he made it sound like he was bartering on an open channel. Whether this goes on all the time or not is immaterial. That was ameteur hour.
He is unfit for that position IMO.

And yes I saw that article, prior to my posting my original comment.
