My wife and I got our bells rung by a kid who lost control of his Honda Civic a few years ago. This life-altering incident changed my perspective a lot. I never drove out of control, but I used to get impatient like most everyone else. Now, I leave a bit early and try to never be in a hurry. It's so much more relaxing that way.

The less impressed I am of material things. The common saying that a lot of people are living beyond their means rings truer and truer every day.

Just finished a long trip with a couple buddies who have flashy cars, designer belts and shoes, etc. but had to borrow money from their parents to go on the trip due to their poor financial habits. Then they had the gall to call me "cheap" for not wanting to burn $100+ bucks/night on drinks at the bars...

i would go out on tuesdays ($5 wine bottles, can't go wrong) until close at 2am but set an alarm for before drinking to make my 8am wednesday physics lab. blacked out many times, never once missed the lab. got a A- in the course

I lived in sfbay area in highschool. I remember around 2013 an smg convertible sat on craiglist for 8k.
