Hi peeps - ill start with a hello to u all as im a newbie

I have recently bought a 2008 BMW X6 35D with 12k on the clock

I cant seem to get more than 19/20 mpg around town in it ?

Should i be getting more - Im not driving it in Sport or extremely fast but still not very impressed with the figures

Took it to dealers yeaterday and they said its fine but I think they were fobbing me off as my warranty runs out this week

Any advice or tips please

Thanks

Welcome! Get it chipped - I have around 22 MPG in Central London and 24-26 MPG on the motorway, but I do drive aggresively. Before chiptuning I had around 20 MPG in the city

How did everything go with your dealer?

Me too

I've filled mine up twice so far. The first refill was after a 300 mile motorway run probably driving at 80-85mph and I got 27mpg

The second fill was a 350 mile mixture of stop start driving with a cold engine plus a few 20 mile runs and I averaged 23mpg

I was a little unhappy with the motorway run as my previous car was a BMW 645 which also averaged 27mpg on the same 300 mile motorway run and I had expected an improvement with this car.

I'd love to know how BMW got their official figures from as it sounds as if they were driving gently down a hill
