probably because with 5 people in the car the hybrid won't deliver an improved fuel economy

+1 for the 3 seats rear! For safety I prefer to mount the car seat in the center.

I have mixed feelings about the 5 seat option.
Whilst i agreee it is an entirely sensible option for BMW that will make the X6 more apealable to mass market.

Market penetration could increase significantly.
The downside is the X6 could loose some of it's exclusivity which is one of the reasons I bought the car in the first place in preferance to the X5 or Range Rover Sport or the Discovery. 4 seats were more than adequate to suit my needs.

X6 will become much more common on the road and I for one am not sure if i like this idea.

Yes, I'm also afraid now the X6 will be more common...

I totally agree Dunzzy that is one of the reasons that I bourght an X6. and i think UK6 is spot on with the lack of rear veiw vision with three people in the back.

I also hate those "X6 being pointless" comments.

With FX35 out there, is EX35 pointless?
With ML350 out there, is GLK350 pointless?

Honestly, each car has its own goods and bads. X6 sacrifices the room for an aggressive look. Some people like it, some people don't.

All cars look the same to my mom. But at least she could distinguish X6 from X5.

The pointless tag attached to the X6 stems from the laziest journalism and ignorance.
Last year I had ordered an X6 but my wife was insistent that the X6 was impractical because it only seated 4. So I got a Z4 instead . I wonder if she'll let me go back to the X6 now?

They should offer a panoramic window too. That would help the middle person feel less enclosed.

Obviously its all personal choice...everyone buys whichever vehicle for their needs, not for others...

It's too tight even for three skinny passengers. X5 FTW!
Per BMW, the X6 is exactly 1" narrower in back than the X5. So something tells me the picture would look similar with the X5.

I ordered 20" Y design wheels with SAP. To have them in black will I have to pay extra money or it will be the same price??? My car has a production number already. Will I be able to upgrade my wheels to the black wheels???

I spoke with my dealer twice about black 2LE wheels (2RV) to change my order before it goes into the production. He told me that Black 2LE style wheels are only offered for European market.
Can someone confirm that please??? I'll be pissed if he's wrong!!!!
