Lights from PYSpeed.com

Hi All,

Hope your all doing well...I have a small Q...Has anybody tried ordering and fixing lights from (www.PYSpeed.com)...I saw one of the threads referring to it...I am very interested in fixing a white LED light for my Alpine White X6..I feel it's gonna look good...but the QUESTIONS:

1- Is it safe? (it says no O.D.C error)
2- Will it void my dealer warranty?

http://www.pyspeed.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DASH%2D8010&CartID= 1

If there is a single doubt, i will not change it...because my local dealer here is very bad...they want a single execuse to make trouble to the client...

Waiting your advices guys...

Regards,

Thanks for the site. I love the Halo light replacements. If I try them I will let you know about errors I receive, if any.

I have a pair on this on my X6 for over one year now. Super bright, no warning and easy to install!

Sorry,
but I still don't get the idea of getting more light on your license plates ? do you want the police to take your number easily when you are speeding ? lol, it was a joke, I just dont find any reason to use them ?

It complete the look of X6 LEDs look all around. The stock yellowish license light just doesn't fit the rest of the car that much. Try it, you will be surprised how great it looks.

Angel Eye Aftermarkets Installed

Here are the PYSpeed "Racing Dash Super Bright White LED Angel Eyes - BMW", product code DASH-8008 lights installed. I didn't post pics of the under door LEDs but they are great and really easy to install (but it is a really tight fit). I will get another set for the rear doors. They also fit the front foot wells and the rear space (but too bright for me).

As for the angel eyes, mixed review. Easy to install (once I read the owner's manual) and I really like the look (see below). But in person, they are about 1/2 the brightness of the factory angel eyes. I know that they are not used for really lighting anything, and white/blue look is really cool but I wish they were a lot brighter...

The picture on their website show the light as a vee. This is just to illustrate that one bulb lights both rings. The bulb is a cylinder and fits well in the the socket.

There are no warning lights or errors. I am anxious for other evaluations.

Update to my earlier post. Now that it is daylight (though cloudy), I can't really see the angel eyes unless I am right down in front of them. I walked about 50 yards away and can't tell they are on.

They have a great look at night. I will probably switch back only because I like the look of the angel eyes being on all the time.

That's my opinion for what it is worth...

I thought the two "arms" holding the LEDs are supposed to pop open in a V shape once you slip it in the casing. Then, they would be directly facing and focusing directly on the two light-transmitting plastic things... Used a similar product on a 335i i had...

I did not put the LEDS on the license plate, I have smoked covers already so didn't work with my style.

According to PY the lights don't spread for the X6 model. I ended up putting the factory back in to compare and broke one of the LEDs while removing it. So I will go back to factory. I like the brighter factory look better but do wish it was the shade fo the PYs.

Strange. I also thought that it supposed to open in a V shape once it's locked. Do you have a picture of this light and RD product #?

Can you post a pic of the rear smoke cover you have on your license. I am thinking of getting one of these and want to see how dark you went with. Also, where did you get your cover?

Thanks.

I had to order a Tuf-Sheild flat smoked cover from a local customizer, about $15 each. All of the auto parts stores had the kind that bubble out and those won't work with the BMW license plate frame.

Amazon has them, search for "Cruiser Accessories Tuf-Shield Smoke Flat License Plate"

Check this link:
http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302410

The second pic is without the cover, the third pic shows the cover on.
