iPOD / iDrive Problem – please help!

When I attempt to play iPod through the i-Drive system, it says “loading” on the screen, but never seems to connect. The local BMW dealer has attempted to fix several times and keeps telling me that the problem is with the iPOD.

Have purchased several Nanos (3rd and 4th generation) in an attempt to resolve. Same result with each one (“loading message”…unable to play audio or navigate playlists)

EQUIPMENT / SOFTWARE:
- 2007 X5 4.8L w/ entertainment package
- iPod Nano (same result occurs with both 3rd and 4th generation models)
- BMW-supplied Y cable (both audio jack and USB data cable inserted into both vehicle and the iPod)
- latest updates to iPOD and iTunes

Any assistance/advice would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
