This thing better not come with an automatic trans. That would be funny an M suv with an auto trans. I sure hope they have been working on a dual clutch that can handle the huge torque loads this engine is going to put out.

alot of people are against an "M" SAV.... unfortunately, im all for it. There needs to be something better than what Porsche has got out. this X5M looks promising and i have high expectations. im not worried if BMW will deliver, im more than confident that they cant screw this up.

yea, i think its 4.8i bmw so they will see what they need to improve, you don't see any M emblems or anything special, nothing is covered up so i don't think that this is the M yet.

We need less German...................more driving.....
My expert prediction is a 0-60 of 5.3.........not bad for a big vehicle- but still below the 2009 Cayenne turbo's 4.9.... Let's see what the X6 M does....... |

Besides if BMW wants to keep up with the competition it should release an M7. So what it's a comfortable limo. Audi could make the S8, MB could make te S65 AMG Jaguar made the XJR. Why can't BMW stand up to it they have the experience with ///M's. I think that a X5 M is more controversive than a M7 would be...

yeah.....no M7 but yes X5M and X6M....strange logic , weird and more weird....I still think that some day in near future we will see M7 or something like that....I hope that X5 M and X6 M will have different engines and not the same stuff like M5 and M6....two same cars...boring

I love the idea of the specs, I just wish they wouldnt call it an M.
The brand is already getting more diluted, there is no need for an M SUV, BMW is going against the very things that put them on the map. Also the thing that gave them more credibility versus MBs AMG.

BMW has plans to introduce more and more X-Boxes (or is that X-$hit-boxes) in the coming years. Have they figured that they screwed up the car line so badly with electronic gizmos and Bangled designs, that this is a whole new froniter to screw up??? Their credibility is gone. The M5, M6 and sadly the M3 are failures. Just take a look at the larger dealerships out there. They have PLENTY of inventory of M's. Resale on the M5 & M6 have tanked and barely broken in M3's are now CPO's. While all BMW's still hold closely the motto of "the ultimate driving machine" I believe they can no longer see the road where they are driving to. Last edited by wakedaze; 12-24-2008 at 05:31 AM.. No M3 CSL? But you're talking about G-forces in an SUV?
