6 DVD changer play movies on nav screen ?
I have read a few post about folks trying to get the 6 DVD changer to play movies on the rear entertainment system without any luck.
Has anyone been able to get a DVD to play on the Nav screen ? If so any tricks ?, I popped one in and I could hear the sound but no picture. I was using a purchased DVD movie and figured it would work.

Mine works fine but car needs to be stopped and in Park.
When you play DVD's do you get a message on the screen about having to be in park to see the video?

I have same setup, do you have any other dvds in the changer at the time ? I tried this by just unloading one of my mp3 dvds and popping in a movie, maybe I need to remove all the mp3 's for it to work. I will play with it some more this weekend. Thanks Chuck.

No wonder BMW figured out this "park first, then watch" system. I was turning home from seaside last summer, at night, quite heavy traffic on highway at 1 AM (doh). . me tired and driving the Touareg, the slightly drunk owner of the car wanted to watch a B-class kung fu movie on the after market LCD screen. .while his girlfriend in the back complained about cold feet (she was in a mini skirt, no sock, sandals) (I was cracking the window for my smoke going off). Since I did martial arts for 17 years, naturally I couldn't refrain from dropping an eye (more than often) on the screen on the dash. .After hundreds more kiais and kicks and punches and flip-flaps I told my friend we need to shut down that focker because I really cannot focus anymore on the bulging traffic. .So we shut it down. . .so that we can arrive alive at home.

So were you able to play video on the screen while driving? Just curious as this would keep the kids happy without them having to hold an iPod for the whole trip.

i live in Vietnam, installed the GPS system. To get the front screen to show GPS system, they need some converter. Therefore I am able to view movies on front screen using the back seat entertaiment system.
To see and hear the voice, you select AUX channel. |

I just got an X5 that has the 6 DVD Changer in the glove box. I tried it once by putting in a commercial DVD (the other 5 slots were empty). It played the audio, and the iDrive screen displayed a "watch video only while parked" message, but I was not able to see any video.
Would be cool to have this actually work - what should I try next?

don't waist ur time, u need a converter/adapter module, search for "TV/DVD inmotion" to bypass the parking break sensor to beable to watch DVD on the front screen while driving. otherwise use ur x6 as ur entertainment room when parking.

There is a module that will allow you to drive and still play a DVD. I saw it on-line. I will need to look for it again if anyone is interested. It is around $189.00.

DVD changer
Anyone know if I swap my glovebox cd changer for a dvd changer, will it play dvds on the nav screen? It's the CCC system. If I do is it straight swap or some other mods or parts needed? |
