Hello all,
I was driving home at about 50-60 mph, not under hard acceleration, and heard/felt a "stutter" as if the car had lost power for an instant or timing chain had jumped a tooth. Then an audible knock immediately started. Drove the 3ish miles home and parked it. To my knowledge the engine has had no real work on it and I assume the timing chain, rods, connectors, valves etc are all factory. At first I thought it was just a bad timing chain but now I'm worried it could be worse... spun bearing perhaps? I'm no expert, hoping that maybe one of your trained ears can help me diagnose this better. The car is not throwing any engine codes. The "knock" sounds louder on the passenger/bank 1 side to me but it's hard to tell that from the video. Appreciate any ideas and happy to provide more details if needed. EDIT: Maybe a valve on bank 1 stuck open? https://youtu.be/UshweqwcRsw |
