E70 NAV not functional

I was driving in my 2013 X5 E70 for about 2-3 minutes with the main screen on navigation. The screen went red, the radio temporarily turned off, and the screen and radio came back on. On the main menu, the Navigation link is not lit like the others. When you select navigation, the screen says this "function is not currently available".

Does the navigation system need to be reset or is there a software update that needs to be installed or something else?

Update-I saw another post on this issue. I turned the car off, locked it with the remote not the soft-touch, waited 15 minutes, started the car and the NAV came on.
