As in "economy" mode? Some would argue that it's the default mode. And Power/Sport are not.

There's nothing eco about an X5M I have the MPG up to 15mpg average after a couple long highway trips which is the highest I've seen mine! Last reset it probably 2k miles ago or so.

Yeah. I’m happy when my x5m gets above 15mpg. Lol.

Generally when I tow I get 9mpg, 13 around town and if I’m real careful I can hit 16.5 on the highway. Basically it’s got Pick-up truck fuel economy.

The biggest fuel economy liars are pickup and diesel owners.... having owned both I see the claims. The m owners are honest about their economy. You’ll never see an x5m owner saying I get 30 on the highway.

The x5m ain’t for efficiency minded, but it’s honestly not bad at towing fuel economy. It does better towing the same trailer than my in-laws F-150 EcoBoost. X5M broke down so they had to two my trailer home, alternator died on the m. The 3.5 EcoBoost averaged 7.5mpg.

Hmm, my last in town tank averaged 15.9 MPG, and I have done some highway only road trips where I averaged 17.8 over a few tanks in a row.
That is with Velos stage 2 tune as well. Granted, I have run through some tanks spending a bunch of time in M mode, and those are a joke on fuel economy, and tires haha.

Actually there is. In the m drive settings it has eco mode available, but I'm not sure it does much.

I don’t know how you guys get in the 16’s. 15.1 is the best I ever gotten, following a grandma in a prius for 30 miles. With temps in the 50’s so no ac and a healthy tailwind.

I've actually averaged 19.9MPG on a tank with my X5M while driving home to CA from Texas. It can be done, but you have to stay off the gas and out of M mode. I usually average around 15MPGs for normal driving. You can see the fuelly data here: http://www.fuelly.com/car/bmw/x5/201...lvasurf/896195
