X6 - When's it coming?

Hi guys,

The brother is considering an X5 but I have him talked into an X6 as it's the new kid on the block.

Does anyone know when this things will hit the UK streets?

Only yesterday did the dealer confirm that his X6 should be available for July though still had no firm exact date on this. He was told that the first models to be released in the UK will be the 3.0tt(petrol), 3.0tt(diesel) and the 4.4tt(petrol). Has anyone else heard similar reports?

That's not quite accurate. Here are the details. Launch date in the UK is 31st May, but I believe it to be 19th April in Germany. My car is due for build in a month or so's time.

35d - build begins - Jan 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008

35i - build begins - Apr 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008

30d - build begins - Apr 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008

50i - build begins - Oct 2008 - deliveries from - Q4 2008

All dealer demo cars will be the 35d and will be specced and supplied to dealers ready for the May retail launch events.

UK confirmed prices OTR;

35d - 44,135

35i - 42,625

30d - 41,995

50i - to be defined

I know about when the X6 is meant to be here and all that you are saying is correct but his very words were that until next week he will not know the exact date as to when he will get his demo cars and when the first UK cars will start to be delivered.

He have provisionally said delivery will start from June but as of yet not confirmation.

Production at the factory began 3 weeks ago, demo cars will be in the UK well before end-May and deliveries will start 31st May, if not sooner. Dealers have already been given their schedules for launch and build slots, although they will not find out about the specification of their demo cars for some time yet.

I was looking at the brochure today and I like that it now comes with a leather dash just like the Cayenne when it's specced with full leather. Though this might be an option as the small brochure has limited info on it.

Unfortuately that 'leather dash' costs rather a lot if I have read the German price list correctly.
