I'm doing 15s in city and 16.8 highway. Normally driving up to 3k rpm, some rare time to 4k rpm.

I only started checking my city mileage the last two fill ups but the onboard trip info seems correct at... 11.6 mpg !
& I am not the most aggressive driver, though I know that the turbos are too much temptation to never want to feel the thrust, even just at moderate levels. Although understandable this was slightly disappointing as I was able to beat the highway rating easily in my first weekend of ownership, albeit by only 1 mpg... I know I have been easier on the throttle since I saw the above so we'll see if it comes up any. Honestly it is what it is, I am not going to hypermile in this thing to get 2 mpg better....

I live in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. I experienced the exact same thing. I went from 12.8 mpg to 10.3 MPG. BMW claims this is normal. I am disappointed. |

Only X5 e70 LCI, manufactured from Oct 2011 on, can accept the 105Ah battery. After battery registration, you can program the car to accept the 105Ah battery.

Now I just had a wonderful converation with the main guy in service. He was even more argumentative, which was astonishing. He told me I was accusing his forman and SA a being liars, which I absolutely did not do. I told them the car has never leaked oil, and after all the work they did, it was leaking oil immediately, which is a very big coincidence. Was trying to put a lot of words in my mouth. After having 3 BMW's serviced there, you would think they would have some respect for their customers.
I then asked one more important question. IF my car was leaking oil when I brought it in, would you take notes on that and document it. He paused for a bit, and then said yes. I said great, why don't you check my records and I'll wait on the phone. He verified there were no issues, but then lectured me on how bad the N63 engine is and that these are cars are well known to have issues like oil leaks. He basically dismissed the whole thing due to a crappy car. I then proceeded to tell him I have a hard time with him using these excuses of oil leaks on a $85,000 car that is 4 years old and found that unacceptable. I guess I made him think some more, because now he wants to do more research and get back to me. Even more unimpressed with Bellevue BMW after the 2nd call. I guess customers are guilty until proven innocent...if they ever are. He told me the leaks are coming from the upper oil pan, turbo lines, and maybe the rear seal, but couldn't tell on that one. I reminded him of everything they replaced on the car and asked if there was any possible way the leaks could be caused by their work. He said no. But again, an amazing coincidence the leaks started the next morning when I pulled out the garage and noticed oil on my floor. Based on his tone, I highly doubt they will do anything here. Love these guys. |

Their foreman is a joke - he claimed the thumping sound I was hearing when I braked was "normal" because of some high torsion in the drive shaft or some BS like that (which went away after BMW seattle replaced control arm bushings). I would not trust them to do the right thing. Edit: you might want to post your experience on bimmerfest as well. There are some fire-breathing expert members who hate stealerships, and would be able to give you a good counter strategy.. |

For this specific repair I guess you'll have to hope BMW Bellevue comes through, but for all future repairs I'd go to BMW Seattle - I've had great success with them over the years. I've also had good luck at Strictly BMW (indy shop) in Bellevue - those guys are courteous, knowledgeable, have a solid history/track record, and won't treat you like you're being treated right now. Can you escalate to BMW North America? I agree way too big of a coincidence. Damn that dealership is trash. |

Ugh, more BMW Bellevue nightmares. Sorry to hear. It's been ~4 months since mine has been in for service there and I haven't been missing them, let's just say that.
I think it really comes down to who you get as a SA there. Mine has actually been pretty good to me over the last 18 months, but my X5 has been a problem child and has spent a lot of time there. She has gone to bat for me several times in getting things repaired. |

How can I tell if the 2011 X5 50i I recently purchased has had the N63 Customer Care Package service performed? I know the vehicle was originally purchased from BMW of Tuscon but then traded in and auctioned. Nashville BMW was no help when I called their service dept with the VIN.
thanks DH |

If they won't help you the 2nd time, I'd ask to speak to the service manager. Or find a different dealer. Or call BMW NA to complain. |

Brother is a SA...
Good news for us N63 owners... N63 replacement engines dropped significantly in price early Jan and there was just another big drop today. It's a complete, rebuilt engine, with upgraded seals/components - 2 year warranty. %73 drop in past 90 days. https://www.jakesweeneybmwparts.com/...xoCFVoQAvD_BwE I have BMW NA contributing 4K already to this repair so we're waiting to see what the Rep says. as they think the engine price might continue to drop. I'll come back on Friday, so sorry for delay.
