X5M MPG
How is the MPG on yalls X5Ms? I have a 2012 and its been getting like 10-11. Not sure if I am doing something wrong, if its the car, or if this just comes with the territory lol. I'm not fretting about gas prices, more so wondering if I am doing something that may hurt the car or if the car is already hurting. Thanks guys

Depends on how you drive and what conditions. I knew I was never going to get 30mpg like I was in my TTRS. But I have been averaging about 12 which is definitely not good. Unfortunately I was hoping for a little better than my M3, but this is worse!!! Hah.
Oh well. Must probably have to drive it in auto mode more often and not constantly spool the turbos on a daily basis!! |

I think I'm between 12-13... Your numbers seem about right. These things are thirsty no doubt, but so worth it!!

i think the only time i got 16 was on long highway trips. otherwise i never passed 12-13 and probably closer to 11.
I just got an M5 and its amazing how much more fuel efficient they are. Sure, maybe 15-16 now instead of 11 but thats a 30% increase!! Jeff |

I asked my dad
his response "if you are worried about the gas consumption on the car take it back and get a prius" That, combined with you guys' statements gives me confidence. Thanks guys! |

I appreciate the responses, you guys helped calm me down a bit. Miles are 31K and about 5.5K are mine. Took it in today and they said blah blah blah they'll look at it by monday.

Best MPG I got is 17.8mpg - all highway requiring a few fill ups.
Mixed driving (minimal traffic) - I would say between 13-15mpg. If I only drive around our area doing a few errands - 9-11mpg. |

I average 17.8mpg with city and hiway combined. I reset it three-four tanks of fuel ago and now it has settled at 17.8 and dosent change much, I thought it wasn't that great but after seeing what you guys get I feel a lot better about it.

I just went to the garage and checked, mine says 17.6mpg and hers says 24.2mpg I do more hiway than she does hers is mostly in town running around but hers dosent change at all i drove it about 300miles a few weeks ago and i thought it would go up but it didnt move it hasn't been reset in months. But mine will likely gain 0.2mpg when I get back on the hiway. I think Preimium fuel and diesel are also roughly the same cost.
