2014 BMW X5 (F15) Order Guide Reveals Lines, Options and Packages

COMMENTS

US BMW dealers are receiving order guides for the upcoming 2014 BMW X5 (F15), along with a special order form to order their first demo cars. The order guides reveal the lines, options and packages that will be available on the F15 X5.

Images of the production model were already leaked last month (copied below) and it showed the latest in BMW styling and design elements, including headlights which connect to the kidney grilles, air curtain technology in the bumper and functional front fender vents. Other technologies expected to debut on the F15 X5 include a pedestrian airbag system and the iDrive Touch Controller System.

The new X5 is expected to weigh less than the current X5 and ride on a modified version of the F10 5 series chassis and continue being produced in BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant.

Production starts this summer, so expect the new X5 to bow at either the Geneva show next week or the NY auto show in late March. We will print pricing information as soon as it becomes available.

The ordering guide shows that colors, trims, leather, and wheels options (and options/packages) that will be available. Also seen is the introduction of different "Lines" for the X5 - the "Luxury Line" and the "xLine".

The upside is that you can get it in any color you want...as long as it's black or white.

It looks like a big x3, and that's not how the x5 should be styled.

Exactly what I was about to say. I doubt that color palette is complete. No red of any sort and no blue of any sort. Maybe the full range of options is not yet open since this is strictly for dealer demo ordering.

Lately with the new generation of BMW's, the "want or need" to update to the newest model is not as strong as it once was. The difference between an E46 and E92, almost night and day. The current LCI X5 is a great looking suv, I don't see a reason to have update any time soon to the new model.

I am thinking about buying one. couple of things that stood out.

1- No Nappa Leather option?
2- No leather dashboard option?
3- No hydraulic body control, or whatever it's called.

Is this right: 2014 X5 has rear-veiw camara as an option...? Not standard? Come on even new Honda Accord comes with 2 (two) rear-view cameras standard. I'm guessing CD player will be oprional soon from BMW.

We all say that now, but when we see it in person and they become common on the road, we'll all change our tune.. typical bmw fanboys..

I just purchased a 2013 over New Years weekend, and boy am I glad I did. I am not thrilled with the new body design at all. Granted it is not the actual pics, however if it looks this boxy and square, I vote for the E70 hands down.

I'm going to have to agree with my forum mates: the E70 is a LOT better looking. In fact, it's probably one of my favorite SUVs, looks-wise, ever.
