Awesome info thank you. For $500 I feel like this is a no brainer vs all the others that cost 10 times as much.

I always say that coming from Domestics and muscle cars that I have the "burden of knowledge" knowing what a decent exhaust should cost. Naturally we get slapped with the BMW tax by most manufacturers. No doubt there is serious quality in a handful of these higher-priced systems and it's no disrespect to the manufacturers, but the prices for these systems are so marked up it's not even funny. Especially for something that amounts to a set of mufflers and some piping. The SuperSprint exhaust for our X5Ms is literally a muffler, piping, and some tips welded together and they think $3K is a fair price to charge? Of course...because others are charging upwards of $4500. Not to mention the Akra systems that touch on $7K.
I like the idea of the Megan setup because it might wake some people up to what else is out there. It's probably not what I'd consider high-end, but I still think many people's opinion of a product is swayed by the price of that product and not necessarily the quality. I had a $2000 E46 M3 GTR hood from a certain carbon fiber company that fit like garbage (the kidney grilles fell right through the openings and had to be glued in, huge gaps everywhere, etc.), so it's clear that price and quality are not one and the same. |

Looks like it fell of the back of a civic... But you can't see the mufflers when its mounted. Also, I don't like Dinan-y tips that look like a piece of 10 cent steel pipe. They look good with thicker tips, but I guess that's why this one is $4000 less than others.

The tips do look cheap. Some double-walled tips would be much nicer. The overall design of the Megan setup definitely isn't a looker, but that comes with the price point I suppose. It'd be nice if there was a nicer 'middle of the road' option.

You don't really need the warranty for the exhaust... I mean what could possibly go wrong as a result of the exhaust, I want to modify my tips to look like the eisnmenann race. As far as sound goes I love dinan but I do agree the tips need some work

My cousin has RPi exhaust with Dinan muffler on his supercharged e92 m3, and I agree that they sound beautiful. He had RPi mufflers before and they were just too loud and droney. But those tips just KILL it

warranty?? for what? are you planning on keeping your suv until the exhaust rusts out??? and if it did rust out, I would order another and keep it moving.
and as far as the tips?? They are rolled. I think they look better then the stock tips. its sounds better then stock exhaust(even with M mode) and it weighs less. I dont think it looks cheap. It looks better the stock. Maybe it doesnt have fancy carbon fiber tips, but they are large, shiny and rolled Oh yeah, you can get it for under 400 bucks and installation is quick. But you do have to weld it. the clamps it comes with will not hold the muffler on tight enough. You also need a sawzall or chain cutter to cleanly cut off the factory massive muffler. I would be willing to BET money that this muffler makes the same HP increase(as little as it may be) then any of the 3k-7k systems out there. I know the guys who spent 7k on a exhaust dont want to hear this. But the reality is its a muffler. No reason it should cost 7k. Do a search, i posted pics of it being installed and after shots and YES, it has been on awhile. If it were that cheap I would expect the baffling to come loose and then get that tinny raspy sound like some hondas with fartcan mufflers get. But it sounds fine and from day one till now, no drone, no tinny sounds.
