im not sure!? lol offensively i think kobe has more moves but mj was stronger/quicker with larger hands. I watched them both growing up at their peaks, mj was guarded by the likes of john starks/jeff hornacek much smaller inferior defenders which allowed him to iso. kobe was guarded by some of the leagues best wing defenders bowen/battier/prince/iggy/lbj but was rewarded by the hand checking rule.

they both boggle my mind with sheer talent/skill vs a superior body ala lbj or 6'9 magic. they are just a mis match every game due to their build + talent.

Craig Hodges is the Lakers shooting coach:
Q: If you could take one player in their prime, would you take Michael Jordan or Kobe?
A: M.J., all day. There's no comparison. M.J. could score 100 points in this era. You can't hand-check now. Imagine that trying to guard M.J. It would be crazy.

Lol so its kobe? I think almost all kobe moves are identical to mj but kobe forces more shots while having all around better teammates in their career.
With regards to defenders.. How about throw joe D. Maybe a little Payton. Lbj and kobe rarely get to match up if uve been watching alot. Its always d wade on him

ahah the glove and joe were good defenders but undersized at the sg to defend. mj would just abuse them in the post. wade cracked kobe in the nose during the asg cause he got tired of being schooled haha. mj did have the super cool palming the ball with one hand, kobe needed duct tape to do so lol.

kobe does forces up many many low shot clock grenade balls, if he gets double tripled...i mean if my life depended on a open luke/kwame/smush im sorry ill have kobe force it.

sorry for my kobe homerism, out of all the moves he stole from mj he added his own which was the pump fake 360 reverse pivot fade away during the 61pt MSG game. Imo his best skill is his ability to adapt to every defender guarding him in one game. he adjusts to shorter/longer/athletic/bigger stronger/rookies/vets/reads where the double team is coming and uses their advantages against them.

So ud take battier/bowen/bell over dumars or payton on D against SGs?

Kobe ends up w the ball all the time coz he demands it.. Ull get the death stare and be blamed if u dont pass it to him.. Thus more forcing of shots.. Now im not sayin mj wasnt like that but kobe had/has better players around him t/o his career. Shaq,malone,payton,d12,nash.. Hell i think id take gasol's offensive post up prowess over longley

thats true he does demand the ball, fish would be the best player to look him off.

shaq was fat and was out played by ben wallace
payton/malone washed up during that stage of their careers
injured d12/ and /injured old nash havent convinced anyone as of yet.
pau been injured and missed used in both offensive schemes, he didnt even lead the griz to a playoff win as the number one guy.

rodman best rebounder and stronger defender
pippen 2nd best player in the league and dpoy
kukoc was one of the best shooter/euro perimeter player

now if you put mj with a line up of smush/luke/odom/kwame and your bench consist of luke/mihm/sasha/profit/grant and take them to the finals that would be a different comparison ahah.

not at all, the bulls had a nice core of players joining and building as mj was the number option. mj didnt win anything til pip and pjax showed up. he was just a scoring machine. Kobe was spoiled around vets joining a core as a scrub til he came into his own.

Hmm. Love to hear this one. Statistically, could you elaborate? No emotion, no what if's just the facts or stats. Let's hear how you come up with this statement.

He had everyone in foul trouble then, and It would be the same today but worst, hey I love hoops I always have but allot of these guys today just want $ they really don't play hard until after the allstar break, passion today is base on big contracts this is why the NBA is weak today and has been for several years, there are a few guys that bring it no matter what but not allot IMO.

Just a scoring machine? U might wanna check he won his DPoY and mvp in 80s so ur statement right away is invalid. And im not even gonna answer ur statement re: mj not winning till pjax.. Same can be said.

better team mates? lets not forget in 1994 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Knicks in 7, WITHOUT mj. A very good TEAM with good players pippen lead. Lets get off the mj high horse for a minute.

We are trolling because we think MJ is better?

Holy shit. Kobe played with one of the most dominant and best center of all time. WTF did Jordan have? Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman?

shaq NEEDED a elite sg to get anywhere, his ft shooting was his weakness. remember how far he got with penny? he won shit til kobe became dominate at the wing. Just ask wade how that turned out with shaq.

Name me another team without their 1 option in the lineup for an entire season and make it that far deep into the play offs like pip did. They had a very competent players and phil.

you two cum in voicing your opinion on whos better, then Ja decides to ask for mine? i gave it to him, he in turn wants to sway me over to agree with his wtf? face it, other great bball minds already gave theirs on whos better. phil/tex/wooden>hodges/inspire/Ja. have a good day LOL

Trololol. I didnt try to sway u over anywhere.. I just want u to provide facts that wud state kobe is better than mj or that mj had better teammates.. Have u done so? Loool. U said mj was JUST an offensive machine wen pip wasnt around and we both know the truth(see above)

Pip didnt make it alone u might have forgotten how he benched himself wen pjax turned to kukoc for game winning.. It went in btw if u have forgotten

How about playoff performances where players do shine the most.. Kobe airballed alot during his early yrs.. Played at a low 45% percentage where jordan was near 50 with defences of bad boys and the great celtic team. I dont wanna mention but kobe almost cost the game 7 against celts jackin up 3 late in the game FORCING IT lucky rondo was guarding pau and pau was there to save him and get the offensive rebound.

thanks for mentioning how great kukoc was along with pip lol, they got pretty far without mj right? Sure a great scoring machine along with dpoy. Mj's first three seasons without pip, he was swept in the first round lol.

oh you forgot to mention how kobes shots werent falling so another way to win was to grab rebounds in which he grabbed 15. ball hoggin and dishing it to artest for the wide open threes lol. Must be nice to finally win another ring being the number 1 option since shaq can no longer do..ask wade.

lakers vs thunder in a few, watch kobe chuck another 30 into a lose without their starting front. you guys can complain about him some more.
