2013 BMW X6 xDrive50i M Performance Package

I have the 50i on order with the M Perf Package. I'm curious, as I've not seen anything online, is it a noticeable difference from the standard 50i?

The 40 horsepower and more torque is the best thing about the package. Most noticeable difference is the shadowline trim and black tip exhausts and of course the rims.

I think the OP is asking whether the extra HP & Torque is noticeable. I would assume not, but I don't have it. The Rims in M Package are the best offered by BMW IMO.

Correct - sorry I wasn't more clear. Does it truly feel quicker?

I can't speak to the x6 50, but I have had several other cars where I made modifications or used a tuner to increase HP an extra 10%. Without question it is noticeable. Not slam you back into your seat noticeable, but I guarantee if you drive the same car without the M performance package, you would notice a difference.

More questions

For the performance package on the 5.0:

1. Do you still have 8 speeds or six?
2. What is the gas mileage?
3. Do you lose the sunroof ?

Answer is YES. Definitely noticeable. My neighbor has a 50i without the M pkg and there is a noticeable difference especially when driving both back to back.

1. 8 speed auto - only the X6M gets the 6 speed
2. Same as the non-per package (I believe rated at 14/20)
3. No - in fact, I think the only way to get rid of the sun roof is to get the car in another country. All US models have it standard I think.

The perf package is just a minor software change that increases boost*. It used to be available on 2010's from the factory and is still available (although hard to find) on the 2008-2010 cars.

*I seem to remember the intercooler might have had an adjustment, but can't find anything on that.

Regarding mileage, I'm seeing ~17.5 mpg on average. Probably 60% highway, but I have a major lead foot so this is definitely not the best mileage possible.

My wife is getting ~18 on her X6 35i, with nearly 100% city driving. She's definitely not as aggressive of a driver (I'm always in Sport more, she never is).

I am shocked how close the 50i actually is to the 35i regarding mileage.
