iOS 6
So iOS 6 works great in my car for displaying text messages and emails BUT I still only see a handful of my contacts. It loads up to about half way down the 'b's and after that is says '...'. Anyone else have this problem?
I know iOS 5 would only send so many contacts out via bluetooth or something but I thought that was one of the fixes for iOS 6? |

Works fine with iPhone. Did you update your Bluetooth software?

Text messages and emails come through fine, and the first 30 or so contacts, it's just the remainder that don't appear. |

I'm having no luck with iOS 6 and Office at all. I even removed the bluetooth pairing from the car, removed the bluetooth pairing from the phone, and re-paired everything. Still nothing--but, I do have all my contacts. I'm using the latest software I can find on bmw.com, PD01004 to MX-3.5.4 and TX-3.5.4. I've configured the iPhone to show notifications in the lock screen and to push notifications to the BMW. What am I missing?

Works great for me. I have IOS6 as well - I can access all 3,000+ contacts. Other functions work well also (except e-mail).
I run the "BMW Connected" app (free on iTunes). I believe you have to have phone unlocked, docked and running app - then the Office Contact folder (pulls all contacts) as well as twitter, etc work fine. |

Max--Thanks. I got office turned on. It seems to work only after I go into settings --> notifications --> mail and turn notifications off then back on. Then it will receive messages. Problem is, I seem to have to do that each time I turn off the car. Do you mind checking what multimedia (MX) and telephone (TX) software versions you have? From the iDrive main screen, it's Settings --> Software Update --> Show Current Version. I'm wondering since your car is a year newer if it has an updated version. Thanks!

Not working for me either.
Also, I've updated my iPhone with the new os and not getting text messages or emails in my 2012. I'm sure it must the on board software needing updating. It appears I'm running TX-003.004.031-003.004 Anyone have something different? What's in the 2013? Thanks. |

BigBob - same with me. You have to do that each time. Even then they don't pop up on the screen unless I'm in the messages area - and not on the phone.
1230vani - see the posts on various boards - there are like 7 settings you have to make sure are correct, AND THEN while connected you have to do what BigBob posted. I'll do a separate post with what I found. doubleroll - I just tried this yesterday and got it no problem. You are correct, today it is not working. If you check your version and you are not on 004, PM me your email and I'll send you the file. NOVADPG - correct - that appears to be the latest.

Steps to get the messages working (sort of)
1. Configure your car for Office (thanks BravoX from f30post)
a. From iDrive main menu, hit Phone 2x b. Selected the Bluetooth Phone that was connected c. Hit Option button d. Selected Config Phone e. Selected Config Bluetooth f. Ticked Office 2. Configure your iPhone a.Settings - Notifications -Messages - Notification On, change the number of notifications to show in the lock screen* b.While still in the above menu, also makes sure "view in Lock Screen"** is on. c.Settings - Bluetooth - click on the BMW link for your car (should say connected), and make sure "show on screen" is selected * you need to change the number of notifications each and every time you get in the car ** Most sites report you have to do this under Mail. I think that is if you want the email messages showing up - my post is for the text messages Overall, this is not ready for primetime yet. I'm hoping a patch from BMW and/or Apple makes this work a lot easier.

Thanks Doug. I had my wife send me a text message on my home tonight, and it showed up on my idrive screen! Couldn't have gotten it to work without your comprehensive post.

Tried it all, unpaired both phones and followed all the steps and it still does not work. I even get to ask filter?! my messages question and I tick I want to see them all and still nothing, even had the mail notifications turned on also. Am getting real frustrated about this. I was not able to update the software via USB, but via BMW Teleservices, it was even stated it is updating Telephone and Media and that it was successful..... This all sucks, mega sucks, wasted an hour now, feel like I do not want to do it again, but I know I will want to make it work tommorow already My car is April 2011 production, I have apps and all of that...
