Using hub rings to fit a wheel that has a different bore size to match up with your hub bore??

exactly

im lookng for 72.5mm (X6 rear) to 74.0mm (X5 front/rear) aluminium alloy hub centric rings, this is to fit a bmw x5 wheel into a bmw x6 rear wheel.

I have not heard of any issues doing this....but I may be wrong.

Lots of wheel manufacturers punch out wheels with 2-3 hub sizes. It's impossible for them to inventory every bolt pattern and hub size.
