X6 Sales

Confirming a what ifly said about production, take a gander at X6 sales for the month of July. No wonder Mac can't get his car! Seriously, did the factory shut down for a bit? Even the X5 took a hit (note BMW had almost no incentives for the month of July, but still).

My car should be complete by Monday/Tuesday, anyone have any idea how long shipping usually takes to NYC? Thanks.

Guess what? I got my production started today! They said I will get notify through email but that’s not true because I haven’t heard from them so I’ve been checking the site and when I checked today, it shows that Productions is beginning! Yay! I am super excited! I can’t wait to get my car! I am hoping by mid August I will get the car! Does it say anywhere with an anticipated delivery date? I guess it sucks that the car isn’t being built in Germany but what can you do!

If production started today you'll probably see it early to mid September at the latest.

Driving and loving the X6M. My production start day to delivery day took 18 days, including weekends.

Why does it suck that it's not being built in Germany?

It would definitely be slower, but only negative I can think of is no ED discount for the whiners paying full sticker. As someone that always had to buy domestic vehicles because of my job, I love that it's made in South Carolina.

To me it this is the case because I would have loved to have done a European Delivery in Munich and drive up to Berlin when i was in Germany. EDs are one of the best experiences with a BMW. I'll try the PDC pick up next time, but I can imagine it comparing to driving your new vehicle in a beautiful European country... The only advantage is that you don't have to wait another 1-2 months to get your car after a PDC.

ED is the biggest "problem" here
I did ED on my 335i and it was the best experience
I would have loved to do this on my X6M too, but oh well...

P.S. Who pays the full sticker these days?
ED price would have been the same

I agree as I have done both Euro Delivery and Performance center delivery. It appeared his reference was to the car being less of a BMW because it was built in the states.

And ED price would most definitely NOT have been the same. If you got a great deal on your M, say $500 - $1000 over dealer invoice, you could have done the same on an ED car but the invoice is $6k - $7k lower to start. This is the only reason one should be disappointed the X5/6's arent built in Germany IMO ofcourse.

I don't believe there is ED on any of the Ms... but I since I knew I was going to be in Germany for a week.. I would have loved to have had this option... then drive down to Barcelona for another week... that would have been... GREAT. The price is ~10% cheaper on EDs... that is also NICE!

Understood. Fyi, ED pricing is most certainly available for M cars.

Untrue as the basis on an ED invoice is significantly less, negotiating skills or not. The best deal on a US invoice is still more than an unnegotiated ED deal.
