My X6M was done last week as well. Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock...

I may just have them put me into a medically induced coma until its released...

Just call the 800 #. They'll tell you exactly where your truck is.

The 800-831-1117 number only give info until your car is ready for transport. Then I was told the dealer can only find out the status, as they take VIN ownership.

We know where our vehicles are. They are completed and at the factory in Spartanburg on hold for transport. There is an EPA/CARB Hold (Monroney Hold) on all X6-M's. What we don't know, and what BMW is not telling us, is when that hold will be released. Maybe this week...

2012 BMW X6M  [0.00]
Same as last year... My 2012 X6M seemed like the last to get released from the "Monroney" hold. As I said in a different post, the SC Delivery people told me that the Ms have the lowest priority since they are the lowest volume. I think mine was finally released mid-April and that I picked up on May 5. So they appear to be running even later this year. It will come... don't' worry!

Question for people here. How long does it take to build an X6 anyone knows?

I ordered my 2013 x6 3.5 over 3 weeks ago and on the bmw website still says, order has been processed we will inform you when it starts production. It starting to feel like forever :-(

Does it takes long to get built and shipped after it goes into production? Or waiting for it to go into production is the longest wait?

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Forget the website tracking. It lags by days. Use the BMW update number 800-831-1117.

I ordered mine 6 weeks ago and it still says that. My dealer did give me a projected week that the build would begin. Was week 18, moved to week 19 4 weeks ago when I got my production number. Hopefully I will get a scheduled production start date and a VIN next week.

After that, I have been told 7-10 days in production. Week to deliver, OR for SC Performance center delivery 2 weeks based on schedule of the 6 hour delivery program.

Yeah. It's torture.

You should get your VIN this week if you're week 19 production, we're currently in week 18, I'd call BMW, I bet they have your VIN already.

I saw your similar post on another thread. It seems history may be repeating itself. Your observations are appreciated!

The thing that bothers me is that BMW is telling us (me) that they have no control of the EPA/CARB approval process. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do as the approvals are in the hands of the govt. This would be somewhat less than truthful if they can alter the priority of the approvals, or more closely shepherd the process, according to a particular model's sales volume...

I got that information through the dealer. That schedule can change until the VIN number is assigned.

Yep, you can make changes all the way up until (I forget the status - but it is here somewhere).

The running boards are EXPENSIVE to add after the fact - so if you want them, get them now. Remember, while they make the car look really good AND make it easier for shorter people to get in and out, they also make it more difficult for taller people to get out without rubbing their legs on the outside of the board. Still, I think if I were to do it over again, I would order them (mostly because my friend ordered the EXACT same X6 as me but got 20s and the running boards and his car looks so much better - even though I hate the 336 wheels).

Yeah that is one of the main reasons im thinking of adding the running boards, i realized how expensive they are afterwards. I saw one the other day with it and it look pretty cool and gave the car such a different look.

Im thinking of adding the HUD to.

Well if it makes you feel any better, on the 2012 brochure, the X6 shown had 20" wheels and did NOT have running boards - so they think it looks just fine without them (so do I).

What options did you get and colors?

Very nice! When you check the status on bmwusa.com, does it show that the car has Active Steering? If so, I'd love to see a screen shot of that.

Well it still says order processing on bmwusa.com

But when they guy that sold me the car at the dealer showed me his computer today it did show up there with all the specs that he put it in for the order and it showed code 150 which said it just went into production. So whenever the BMWUSA.com website decides to update, i will post a screen shot of it.
